Ruby Deckard

Deckard, 88, of Camargo, formerly of Murdock, died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 30, 2017) at her home in Camargo.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Joines Funeral Home, Illinois 130 South, Villa Grove, with Pastor Dereck Mobley officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Murdock Cemetery, Murdock.Mrs. Deckard was born on Aug. 24, 1929, in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., a daughter of Lucian M. and Dessie M. (Copass) Furgerson. She married Ralph M. Deckard on June 4, 1949, in Tompkinsville, Ky. He died on Dec. 19, 1993.Surviving are two sons, William (Marlina) Deckard and Dennis (Ruby Marie) Deckard; grandchildren, MaryAnn (Drew White) Atwater, Amy Jo (Jason) Lawless and Geri (Derek) Claypool; great-grandchildren, Christopher William Atwater, Mitchell Ray Atwater, Chase Lawless, Anna Lawless and Cade Lawless; brothers, "Elder" Floyd (Bessie) Ferguson, Ether "Chigger" (Judy) Ferguson, Clarence (Lorienda) Ferguson, Randall (Mary Anna) Ferguson, Joe Ferguson and Neil (Melinda) Ferguson; and sisters, Delpha Holland and Nina Carter.Mrs. Deckard was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Fred, Jesse, Kenneth and Harold; and sister, Blanche Hix.Mrs. Deckard was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.She loved to work in her garden, and for many years she helped her husband Ralph on the farm.Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 303 N.
